Football Band Hire FAQs

Questions About Hiring 12th Man Brass

Practical answers for football clubs, fan-zone organisers, venues, pubs and companies planning live matchday entertainment.

01 What is 12th Man Brass?

12th Man Brass is DDFK’s five-piece live football brass band, created for matchdays, fan zones, public screenings, sports bars, stadium events and corporate football hospitality.

The musicians perform recognisable football anthems, supporter songs and crowd-led brass arrangements while roaming through the venue or playing from a fixed position. A dedicated World Cup football band format is also available for international tournament events.

02 What types of football events can the band perform at?

The band is suitable for stadium entrances, concourses, fan zones, pub screenings, corporate hospitality, sponsor activations, festivals and private football parties.

The format can be adapted for a small indoor venue or a major outdoor supporter event. For occasions requiring parade-style movement or a wider programme, DDFK also provides marching and roaming brass entertainment .

03 Does the football band need a stage, PA system or power?

No stage, PA system or electrical power is required for the standard roaming performance. The band performs acoustically and carries its instruments while moving through the event.

This makes the format useful for busy fan zones, pubs, concourses and temporary event sites where cables and technical equipment could restrict movement. The organiser only needs to provide safe access, a suitable changing or holding area and an agreed performance route.

04 Can the band play before kick-off, at half-time and after the match?

Yes. The performance can be arranged around the complete matchday schedule. Typical appearances include supporter arrival, pre-match build-up, national anthems, half-time entertainment and full-time celebrations.

The exact timings are agreed with the organiser so the music does not interfere with announcements, broadcast coverage, hospitality service or stadium operations. The band can perform several shorter appearances rather than one continuous set.

05 Can we book an England, Germany or international football band?

Yes. England, Germany and mixed international formats are available. The England format combines Three Lions songs, terrace favourites and coordinated England shirts. The Germany format can include German football shirts, lederhosen, supporter songs and the distinctive sound of a German and Bavarian-style brass band .

Mixed national shirts and globally recognised stadium anthems can be used when the event welcomes supporters of several countries.

06 What football songs does 12th Man Brass play?

The football repertoire includes England favourites such as Three Lions, Vindaloo, World in Motion, Sweet Caroline and Que Sera Sera. German options include Major Tom, Auf Uns, Schwarz und Weiss and familiar supporter chants.

International selections include Seven Nation Army, Waka Waka, The Cup of Life and Carnaval de Paris. DDFK can also draw on its wider pop brass repertoire where suitable for the audience and event.

07 Can the band perform national anthems?

National anthems can be included when they are confirmed during the booking process. The organiser should provide the relevant fixture, required anthem and exact ceremony timing in advance.

This allows the musicians to prepare the correct arrangement and coordinate the performance with announcements, players, screens or other event production. Anthem availability should therefore be agreed before the final event schedule is approved.

08 Can the football band perform indoors and outdoors?

Yes. 12th Man Brass can perform at both indoor and outdoor football events. Indoor bookings include sports bars, hospitality areas and public screening venues. Outdoor bookings include stadium approaches, festival sites and fan parks.

Outdoor performances remain subject to safe weather, suitable ground conditions and an agreed wet-weather plan. The organiser should also provide a secure place for the musicians and instruments before and between appearances.

09 How long does a football-band performance last?

The performance schedule is built around the event rather than restricted to one standard continuous set. The musicians can appear during supporter arrival, before kick-off, at half-time and after full-time.

The final number and length of appearances depend on the fixture schedule, venue layout, audience size and time available. These timings are confirmed in the booking agreement so organisers know exactly when the band will perform.

10 How much does it cost to hire a football band in the UK?

Football-band hire is quoted individually because every event has different requirements. Pricing is affected by the event date, location, travel, performance schedule, number of appearances and whether the booking covers one fixture or several tournament dates.

For an accurate quotation, provide the venue postcode, fixture, estimated attendance and required timings. DDFK can then recommend a suitable format without adding unnecessary services or production costs.

11 How early should we book the band?

Book as soon as the event date or fixture is confirmed. Major tournament weekends, England matches, knockout rounds and public-event dates usually attract the strongest demand.

Early confirmation also gives the organiser and band time to coordinate repertoire, clothing, performance routes, security access and matchday timings. Last-minute enquiries can still be submitted, but availability will depend on the exact date and location.

12 Can we book the band for several matches or a full tournament?

Yes. 12th Man Brass can be booked for a single fixture, several selected matches or a wider tournament programme. Multi-match bookings are suitable for fan zones, bar groups, sponsor activations and venues running repeated public screenings.

Send the proposed dates, locations and match schedule together. This allows DDFK to assess availability, travel requirements and whether one consistent performance format or different national-team themes would work best.
